Voyeur

Spooky

VOYEUR
by Dara Mandle

When Uncle talked about the creep,
whom the dog ran off the grounds,
and the police found with a jar
of jelly and a blade, I thought,

your decay invades with equal menace,
except we can’t chase it away—
it lingers in the glass, a dire presence:
when I pass, I do a double-take.
